In 2015 I was interested in working in a developing country again and applied for various positions at giz. For Ethiopia I was selected as program manager: Intensification of production. In April I visited the country and the task - together with Klaudi - for 9 days. Very poor, very degraded, exciting task, but very low quality of life. We were in Addis Ababa, in the crater near Wenchi and in Kulumsa. The giz people were very nice and gave us a good insight.
On 11 August 2015 I started working for the GIZ Green Innovation Centre Ethiopia in Addis Ababa. In 2.5 years I got to know the whole country very well, especially in depth. Living first in a skyscraper (not nice), then own house and in the GIZ guesthouse. Four times I entered Ethiopia in 2015, 80 days I spent there the year. In 2016 I entered the country 9 times.
In 2017 I was again 9 times in Ethiopia (73 days), for work. The last time was in September, then the work there was successfully completed and handed over: 40 million euros were invested in a concept, which fulfilled me very well. But it was also good that it was over.
