Guru Geri in Poland
I landed in Warsaw in 1983, but didn't get off. That's why it doesn't count. The first time I was really in Poland was in 2003. With a company car with Ulverich, Stuckert and Anita Idel I drove via Berlin via Lodz to Warsaw. There they were picked up by Tomec, who took care of us. I lived in Jastrebic, the animal research institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences. From Warsaw we drove into the lake landscape of Masuria. There we lived at the research station Popielno and discussed whether and how this can be converted to organic. All the deepest German history. Was in the Wolfsschanze and saw the revanchist actions with the wooden sticks at the bunkers. The story is not over yet, but is now being marketed.
- In 2004 I went to Warsaw with Friedrich Weissmann because we had a conference there. At the time of the 60th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. Also again deepest German history.
- In 2005 I was invited to a lecture. This time I flew from Hamburg. Was a short but nice stay.
- 2008 with Klaudi via Warsaw to Belarus and Lithuania.
- In 2013 I was once again in Warsaw. There the FQH-Conference took place, in which I participated actively. I spent two nights (3 days) in the Hotel Sofitel and experienced nice places for dinner (FQH invitations) and a great renovated and lively city centre. A very pleasant country.
- 2019: passing Poland from Greifswald via Stettin and Gdansk to Kaliningrad, and on the way back via Warsaw and Lodz to Berlin. (3 days)
