On 5 billion hectares are 600 million farms with a wide range of farming systems, producing food for nearly 11 billion humans (2050). Additionally, open water delivers plenty of fish and sea food. How food is produced and consumed depends on environment, wealth and cultures.
The environment and people have created magnificent and amazing food and farming systems. I have visited thousands of farms and farmers, fisherfolk and stakeholder throughout the world in more than 40 years of global traveling. Selected pictures and stories from all countries of the world (195 UN countries including Vatican and Palestine; +1: East Frisia) are presented and explain my personal observations and opinions.
